Milk and Fish

I don't like most sources of protein - but I do like milk, fish and peanut butter. Perhaps it is because after 16 months I still only have 4 teeth so how could I chew chicken or steak?

I will eat fake fish or real fish.

Sick?

My cousin Luke is sick again and yesterday I was sick too! I don't know what was wrong with me but I had a fever of 102.7 whenever the Tylenol wore off. I slept about 18 hours yesterday and today I feel just fine again. No fever, up playing and eating like a champ again. Back to terrorizing the dogs, wonder if they missed me yesterday - I am sure they missed all the extra food I normally give them.

Toys and Signs

Toys:
I found this old baby toy in my closest yesterday - I don't know why it was put it away it is so much fun to play with. It can play songs that I can dance to! I like to dance by spinning in a circle - it is the latest big dance move.

Signs:
I added a few more signs in this past week. First was dog. I really got to practice this on vacation with nana and grandfather - I made sure to point out every dog we saw. Now at home I can practice it with my dogs and the dogs I see on my walks. That sign is easy - pat your leg twice. My next new sign is water. You make a W at your chin. I can do this when I am thirsty now. My last new sign is Daddy - but I have only done this a couple times and not on film yet. Oh also in this video I say "ball". It is one of my few words I can say so mommy wanted to include it in my latest movie for you.

Vacation Videos

Mommy took a handful of videos of me using her iPhone while on vacation. Hope you enjoy them!

Punta Gorda

I spent 4 days in Punta Gorda playing on the beach, in the swimming pool, looking at birds and cats, riding on a boat and eating lots of food. I had a wonderful time with my nana and grandfather! Can't wait to see you again in October when you come to New Mexico!

Back from Florida

Here are some pictures from my few days in Gainesville and Fernandina Beach. My mommy ran stadium steps (90 rows up and down x6) while I played with nana - mommy's calfs hurt for 5 days after this - silly mommy!

Me and the bull gator statue outside the Swamp
Me in a chair my nana's grandfather made for her when she was a little girl.

There wasnt much to play with at my great-nana's house - but dont worry I will find things to play with.
Next up on my vacation pictures - Punta Gorda where I spent 4 days!

reading!

I like to read books and so does Daddy.

Also an undate on daddy - he got his first shot today of Enbrel for his arthritis. He will get this shot every wednesday. Ideally in a month we will start to taper off his prednisone and then a few months later start to remove his plaquenil. This will leave him on Enbrel and Avara only - but this is all dependant on him improving over the next few months.

More

Dexter started using his 3rd sign yesterday after I gave his a piece of his first brownie. He immediately started saying more and using the sign for more. Brownies can do this to a person! So now he signs milk, all done and more. He knows the sign for book, ball, dog & sleep also but I haven't seen him do them yet. Fun stuff

(sorry about the directv spam in the background, Dexter stepped on the remote when I started recording and the awful lighting - not our best work)

15 month mirthday!

First off, my Aunt Heather wanted to see a picture of me eating at my new table so here I am from this morning eating my blueberries, waffle and milk. Also here is a video from this morning showing people what I like to do in the morning between 6:30 and 7:30 when I leave for baby school. Its a pretty action packed hour!

Here is a breakdown of my many accomplishments over the last 3 months:

Weight: About 23 pounds. I wear size 18month pants, 2T shirts and size 4 shoes

Skills:
Physically: I can walk well. I can throw balls and kick balls. I can use a spoon and a fork but still prefer using my hands. I can get in and out of a little chair.

Verbally: My best words are mama and ball. I still mostly grunt and try to mimic words people say but you wouldn't be able to recognize them as words yet.

Comprehension: Although I cant talk well I understand a lot. If you say we are going for a walk I will bring everyone their shoes, bring the dogs their collars and get into my stroller. If you say bring me a ball or book I will. If you tell me to drink I will. If you say time to brush your teeth I will go to the bathroom. If you say night-night I will wave bye to mommy or daddy and go to my room and sleep without any problem. I am also starting to learn my body parts. I know head, ears, mouth, tongue and tummy so far.

Likes: Outdoor play, looking at books and being read to, playing with Bosley, sleeping, opening and closing doors, playgrounds

Dislikes: I hate when someone takes away a toy I am playing with. I hate baths in a bathtub (however I love baths in the sink)

What is to come: Next week I am flying in another airplane! I am going to visit my nana and grandfather in Florida for 6 days with mommy. I can't wait to see them and play in the ocean. I still use a pacifier at night but mommy said after that trip she is going to start taking them away at night - we will see how that goes!

Table for 3 please

I got a new table yesterday. It's toddler sized and I love it! I was really beginning to dislike my highchair. Now when I eat I can get up when I am done and I am much happier. Plus I can play at my table. I like to read books or play games on it. Or just practice getting in and out of my chair, which I can do all by myself. Thanks mom for my table!

baby number two?

Mommy and I went to a fertility doctor today to start the process of making me a brother or sister. I am not sure what that means but I got to sit on a chair and eat animal crackers while mommy talked with the doctor so I am all for it!

Back when I was made in the lab (Dexter's laboratory?) there we other little embryos with me. I was deemed the best (and really based on what I have done so far, can you blame them!) and got to grow in mommy's tummy. One of the embryos I was with was frozen in time and left back in Ohio. Well when mommy goes back to Columbus for Christmas they are going to put that embryo into mommy's tummy and see if it grows. Its called a frozen embryo transfer and I am sure when it gets closer to time to do this mommy will tell you all about it.

If it doesn't work then perhaps mommy and daddy will try IVF again, perhaps they will not. If not I will have to visit my cousins more than I do now because I miss them and mommy and daddy are not nearly as fun to play with as kids are.

What is a blog post without pictures of me? Boring, thats what. So here I am from a minute ago playing outside with my hose and water table. I know the two are connected but I can't seem to make the hose work.

sitting in the car

I like to drive my car around, but sometimes I just like to sit on it for a while for a break between walks.
