Happy Halloween!

Fireman Dexter!

My class at school - Miss Isabel is my teacher

Miss Isabel and Mrs Rita's combined class.  What great costumes we had!

Halloween was so much fun!  I got to wear a costume and get so much candy!   After an hour of trick or treating my bucket was full and so heavy I couldn't carry it

School photos!

A week ago they had school photos done.  Mommy and Daddy forgot what day it was so I am wearing track pants and a toy story t-shirt....despite them I am as cute as can be!   Then today when I saw the photos I asked, why am I sitting like that and why and I laying down like that?

If you like one and want a particular shot mommy has several of each kind :)

Forts and Wolfs

I have a strange fear of the Big Bad Wolf.  I talk about him all the time and at night I say I am scared he will come into my room.  So I build forts with Daddy that the wolf can not get past.  This was last night's fort using my tunnel, a love seat, my bed, my play kitchen and lots of sheets & blankets.

McCall's Pumpkin Patch 2012

See last year's visit:
http://allisonkarrels.blogspot.com/2011/10/mccalls-pumpkin-patch.html

This morning we went to McCall's pumpkin patch.  It was lots of fun, I saw lots of animals and played on the cow train, on slides, in a new massive fort playground and in an old farm kitchen.  I only lasted 2 hours before I was tired and wanted to take a nap (imagine how long I will last at Disney at Christmas time?!)  I wonder what kind of pumpkin patch I will go to next year in Virgina?

Yea, Science!

I went to my favorite place in Albuquerque today - ¡Explora!

They had several new exhibits today about light and color.  Here I am building an awesome magna-tile structure.  I ran around the place saying "Yea, Science!"

I spent the day with mommy today instead of going to school.  We had lunch, went to ¡Explora! and then watched "Hotel Transylvania" at the movies with popcorn! Finally we came home and the UPS man brought me two Halloween books! More days should be this awesome.

Firemen help people

Firemen help people.  They also shoot people with random guns they find at playgrounds.
(Why boys love guns so much I will never understand)

halloween spirit

I am starting to get into the Halloween spirit at home.  I helped mommy hang up some spooky spider lights and put up some random witches and gravesigns up around the house.

Brown Bear, part 3

Here is a link to my previous two readings of "brown bear"
http://allisonkarrels.blogspot.com/2012/05/brown-bear-part-2.html

Here is my final installment of me reading the book.  My Aunt Heather has been using me in her speech therapy classes she teaches so just trying to help out :)

I had a fun weekend watching football and eating pizza with friends.  Tomorrow is a holiday of sorts, the base is closed by mommy has to work.  I wonder what fun adventures I will get into with Daddy tomorrow!

Minimal Pairs

First off, I cut my hair yesterday.  Mommy misses my curls already, but Daddy likes it better.

Now onto this week's speech therapy words!  We worked on "minimal pairs" which are words that sounds similar - we focused on the sound discrimination between the "t" sound and the "k" sounds.  Examples are:  Tap/Cap, Tea/Key, Tight/Kite, Take/Cake, Cop/Top, Tall/Call.

Daddy said the word then I was supposed to point to the picture.  I had a hard time with this, apparently I can't tell the difference between the two sounds very well.  After a few more days of practice I got much better though.  Our book this week was Bear Snores On.

Next week is my last week at speech until after the holidays, we will practice the S sound.  I will start back up January 15th for my final eight week session.
