House building

Everything at home right now is about our new Virginia house.  Mommy and Daddy are constantly looking up stuff on the internet and now I am helping by building my perfect home out of mangatiles.  I live upstairs and mommy, daddy, grandfather and nana live downstairs.  I even have a garage for my 2 cars and 2 firetrucks.    Who wouldn't want to live here!

packing

Packing paper is fun to play in!

I helped with the tape!

We don't move for 6 more months but today we officially started packing.  The Christmas and Halloween decorations were all packed up.  Slowly over the next 6 months we will be going through our belongings and sorting them into moving boxes, goodwill boxes and trash.  Lucky for us people come and go all the time on base and we got several dozen good moving boxes and packing paper from a neighbor.

My Disney Adventure

Wow, so much to tell you about my trip to Florida.  I loved it so much, I got to be with my cousins Cole & Luke, my Aunt Heather, uncle Jeff, my nana and grandfather.  I went to the Magical Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios, Animal Kingdom, Medieval Times and Epcot!  I meet lots of people like Handy Manny, Woody & Jesse, superheros like Captain America, Wolverine & Spiderman, princess like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty and my favorites from Lion King - Simba & Pumba.   It was amazing!  I went on a few rides like Splash Mountain and Spiderman, but I preferred the easier rides like Dumbo and merry-go-rounds.  I also just liked relaxing at the pool at our hotel or at grandfather's timeshare.

Here are some photos from my trip!

Strep

The entire family is on antibiotics for Strep throat.  Mommy was the only one with symptoms but she took me to the doctor also and my test came back positive as well. I don't mind, the medicine tastes great!

Hi Santa

All day long I was excited to see Santa Claus.  He was coming to the Air Force base and I was going to meet him!  I stood in line and said "There he is, I see Santa" and I was good.  I don't want to talk to him let alone sit on his lap!  I just wanted to see him and eat a cookie.

Home Building

We are going to build our next house!  It will be a fun process but a little stressful being so far away from it all and having to trust the builder and realtor and home inspector from afar.

Dan and I have looked at countless floor plans and exteriors and both have very similar likes and plans for our next house.  Because of this (and the crazy high airfares currently) we have decided that I will fly out alone Jan 3-6 to Virgina and buy a house - or at least a plot of land and a blueprint in hopes of it turning into a beautiful home.

For those who saw our spread sheet we have narrowed it down to: K. Hovnanian's Delaware, DR Horton's Piedmont and Drees' Buchanan (above).  I like the Buchanan the best.  Drees offers the most floorplan flexibility so I have Photoshopped some changes to the original plan and perhaps I can submit it ahead of time and see if it is possible.  I am really happy with the main floor plan but not 100% sold on the upstairs layout.  I dont think we personally need 4 bedrooms but perhaps future renters will.  I could go with their Jack and Jill layout as well (from the speadsheet) and make it a 3 bedroom instead - but I really do want to move Laundry downstairs and have a mudroom/dogroom downstairs.  Let me know if anyone has a brilliant idea for the layout of the 2-3 bedrooms and 2 full baths.  I like the bonus room and owner's suite part.

I will be sure to keep everyone updated with any news in this area.

Montessori

When we move to Virginia mommy wants me to go to Montessori school like she did when she was a little kid.  They like hands on learning like these numbers and dots.

Who knows where I will go to pre-school. It will be one of the fun new things about moving!

writing

My old dry erase board got trashed by me, so mommy brought me home one from work that was being thrown away.  It is fun because it has lots of lines on it.

I like to practice my letters.  My favorite things to write are Dexter and Mom.  They are also the only words I know how to spell :)  The lines are handy, it keep my letters small so I don't get to crazy with my writing.

Gobble Gobble

I spent this Thanksgiving with my friends Duncan and Áine.  Their daddy is a great cook and made us a yummy middle eastern themed Thanksgiving because their mommy just got back from deployment and we wanted to eat some of the foods she had while overseas.

I also watched lots of movies with them and played games. I also tried to share my mommy but that got a little hard at times.

Today was also my mommy's birthday, we watched the Gators beat the Noles while eating Chipotle - what a perfect night!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy and Mommy at the Air Force Dining Out

My birthday card to daddy.  I drew the happy face and wrote my name on top (we are working on lower case letters at school) then mommy wrote on the bottom.

I have a great birthday plan for daddy - we are going to eat ice cream and watch Kung Fu Panda.  He likes both of those things and so do I!

Christmas Tree

Today we set up the Christmas Tree and read all my Christmas books.  I only have one new Christmas Book with Curious George in it, all the others are my mom's old books from the 70s.  They are funny, the Dennis the Menace book says things like golly and geez whiz.

Bunk Beds

I was going to wait until I moved to Virgina to switch from my toddler bed to my mommy's old bunk bed set (she got it when she was in 4th grade!) but then I thought how great it would be to use for my forts.  So we put it together and went out and bought some sheets and mattresses.  I love it!

Security Blanket...

When I sleep not only to I need my blanket, I need all 5.  I also need a zoo so I bring all my animals over.  Then they might like some food so I bring most of my kitchen things over.  Then I can fall asleep.  Usually I do all this right behind the door so it is hard to get inside.  I did that last night and then mommy moved me to my bed during the night but when she woke up I was back with my things.

3 1/2 years old!

Dexter's spider hat and his 1/2 birthday cupcake!

Vital Stats:
Weight: 35.6 pounds  Height: 39 inches
Clothes I wear size 3-4T shirts and pants, size 9 shoes

Skills:
Physically:  I am potty trained and have not had an accident in a while now.  I can run, jump and ride a bike with training wheels

Verbally:  I completed the first eight weeks of speech class and in January will have eight more weeks of class.  My speech has improved a lot since I turned three, I talk much more now to friends and strangers alike.

Likes: My favorite thing to do is either play "putt-putt" on the iPad or build a structure with magna-tiles.  I like to play at the playground and swinging is still my favorite there - I have learned how to pump my legs so I can swing myself.

Favorite Foods: I have branched out here and finally starting eating some meat (perhaps it is because mommy isnt cooking it and the chef is....) fish is a favorite, along with pork.  I still love grapes, yogurt, bagels, mac & cheese, PB&J sandwiches.  My new favorite treat is ice cream- which was my reward for popping in the potty.

Dislikes:  I want mommy or daddy close by so I can see them or touch them, but I don't want them helping me do anything.

What is to come: For Thanksgiving we are going to Colorado Springs to play with the McCalls.  At Christmas time it is off to Florida to see Disneyworld and all my mommies family.  Then not much until we move to Virgina next summer.

Gamer

I have gamer genes, which explains my addiction to the two putt-putt games I have on my iPad.  They are so much fun to play!

Happy Halloween!

Fireman Dexter!

My class at school - Miss Isabel is my teacher

Miss Isabel and Mrs Rita's combined class.  What great costumes we had!

Halloween was so much fun!  I got to wear a costume and get so much candy!   After an hour of trick or treating my bucket was full and so heavy I couldn't carry it

School photos!

A week ago they had school photos done.  Mommy and Daddy forgot what day it was so I am wearing track pants and a toy story t-shirt....despite them I am as cute as can be!   Then today when I saw the photos I asked, why am I sitting like that and why and I laying down like that?

If you like one and want a particular shot mommy has several of each kind :)
