Dr. Daddy

I just got back from visiting everyone I know. Thanks to daddy's graduation from PhD school we all got together to celebrate! It was great seeing all my cousins and the big people were fun too (although I am way to attached to mommy right now to let other people hold me) I will post a longer blog entry Monday or Tuesday - right now we all need to catch up with our sleep.

Pillow

Daddy bought me a special toddler pillow before he left town for work. I really like it and wanted to share this picture with him.

Told ya

I told you yesterday I love to eat. To prove it here is a picture of me eating spaghetti. I can feed myself....I prefer to eat with my hands but I also like practicing with my spoon.

teeth

I got my second tooth a while back and today mommy got a good picture of both teeth! Hopefully I will get some more teeth soon, I love to eat and I think more teeth would help with that.

St. Patrick's Day

My grandfather's grandfather's paternal grandparents, Timothy & Ellen Moynihan, came over from Ireland. My grandfather's grandfather's maternal grandmother, Mary Flynn, came over from Ireland - she met a Canadian and got married in America. The rest of my mommy's family is from Scotland or England but I won't hold that against them, for today is St. Patrick's Day! Today is a day I wear a green dinosaur shirt, finger-paint with green paint and eat green jello.And Daddy wears his green camo and shoots paper people - the Irish do have a wee bit of violence in them as well.

Taco!

I often go out to lunch or dinner with mommy and daddy but today was special. Today they ordered something just for me! We went to a place called Peppers (just like Chipotle) and while they ate massive burritos I had a massive taco! It was far more than I could ever eat but I tried my best. I loved the black beans and cheese - I tossed the lettuce and taco shell on the floor but for some reason there were no dogs in the restaurant to eat my leftovers.

Good thing I smiled a lot at the lady owner, she didn't mind I made a mess :)

Training

I (this being Allison) have signed up for a sprint triathlon on May 9th. It is a 3 mile run, 12 mile bike and 400 meter swim. The race is taking place on the Air Force base and is one of the largest and most popular sprint triathlons in New Mexico. I have started training for this 6 days a week (2 days for each part of the race). In addition I have been playing with my Wii Fit Plus I got for Christmas and Dexter just loves to watch me play the Wii. He is a big fan of crawling on the balance board while I am trying to do things on one leg especially.

Here are the mandatory cute pictures of Dexter - he got several pairs of gym shorts from a 4 year old neighbor that fit very well as pants for now and will eventually be shorts on him!

New team?

I am a buckeye by birth, gator by the grace of god.

But now what is this? Junior Lobo club??

University of New Mexico's mascot is the lobo - lobo is spanish for wolf. So now I have a third team to cheer for - Go Lobos!

Curious Dexter

It's fun to open cabinets in your kitchen.



You can crawl inside to play or pull pots and pans out to play. Either way it's lots of fun and pots make cool noises when you bang them on the floor!

Fruit-aholic

I really, really love fruit. I love to feed myself banana, blueberry, melon, strawberry & oranges. I bet there is more fruit out there I haven't tried yet - but I will!

10 month update!

This mirthday post is a day early because mommy works every Monday and Friday and so she is doing it early. Silly mommy!



Weight: somewhere over 20 pounds

Skills:
Physically: I have better fine motor skills now - I can clap, take hats off, do the sign for milk, turn pages in a book. My large motor skill improvement this month is getting up and down from standing smoothly
Verbally: I have the letters A and B down pat, not so much any other letters.

Likes: I like to eat. I like to crawl. I like to pull up on anything I can. I like to pull my mommy's scrub pants down while she is working in the kitchen and I am trying to pull myself up using her pants. I like everything that is on the video mommy made about me.

Dislikes: When I am really tired don't even try to put me on the ground - I need to be held until you understand that I am really tired not hungry or teething and you should put me in my crib.

New Foods since my last update: Grains - nothing new. Fruits - Strawberry. Vegetables - Broccoli, Spinach. Protein -nothing new Dairy - american cheese. I really like smoothies that daddy makes sometimes with dinner - I get a few ounces in my sippy cup and I just gobble that down! Not sure what category this goes in but I started on Tuesday getting one bottle of formula a day in addition to my three-four bottles of breastmilk. Mommy cant keep up with me anymore and had to finally give in.

Highlights of the month and what is to come: This was a short month it seemed. I got sick with pink eye and another double ear infection. My ears are getting rechecked the day before I fly to Ohio to see if the infection went away completely after the antibiotics. Hopefully it did, doc said if I get 4 ear infections in a 6 month period I get tubes stuck in my ears! In two weeks I have a big trip planned to Ohio to see just about every important person in my life! All four of my cousins, all my grandparents, all my aunts and uncles - even some second cousins and a great-uncle! I can not wait to see them and fly in an airplane!

Chores

Daddy is making me have chores already. He put this trash bag down next to me so I guess he wants me to take it outside to the trash can. I will try to pull it but it seems heavy.
