Hanging Out

Not much going on here since Christmas. Daddy is working half days this week since his whole office seems to be on vacation. So I get to hang out with him more than usual! Mommy turned my blog into a book and it is supposed to arrive today - I can't wait to see it! Grandparents - you can have a copy of the blog book if you want one when I see you in March.

More Crawling

10 days ago I posted a video of my first ever crawl forward. It was only a short distance. Well I have progressed a lot in 10 days. I can now cross rooms, crawl up into people's laps, follow people into the kitchen, and once I even changed from crawling into sitting up without falling over. Today I followed mommy into the kitchen and pulled over a small trash can. Mommy and Daddy can avoid it no longer - they have to baby proof the new house.

Here is a short video of me crawling. Ah Freedom!!

More Fashion

For the Zoolander Fans out there... "I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking." Of course mommy tells me I am really, really, ridiculously good looking but she is my mommy - she has to say that!

Here is Dexter working on his "Blue Steel" look

He cant keep a serious face for too long, Dex loves to smile!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Today was a fun day. I got to play with bows and wrapping paper! I also got some new toys, clothes and books! Here are a few pictures from my day (mommy got a new camera lens, so she went crazy taking pictures!)

Bows are so much fun!

New Car

I got a present early...mommy has no willpower.

I got a large box from Aunt Debbie today and mommy opened it (even though it was clearly addressed to me!) Well the present wasn't wrapped and mommy decided to put it together today rather than on Christmas.

Look at me!! How fun this toy will be over the next year. Right now I can sit on it and balance myself well, in the future I hope to practice walking by pushing it from behind and also ride it around my living room to terrorize the dogs!

Thanks Aunt Debbie, Uncle Joe, Ben & Nikki for my present!

ps. I feel much better today :)

blaaaaa

That's the sound of my vomiting. blaaaa

I don't have a cute picture of me today because in the last 24 hours I have thrown up 3 times and pooped so much it went up my PJs twice! I have never thrown up before today, and it really didn't bother me. One second I was happy, the next I throw up all over mommy and then I go back to smiles and play. It was my way of rebelling against mommy starting work today, or at least that is the guilt trip I am telling mommy. I am not sure what caused this stomach problem but the pediatric nurse said just to keep hydrated with breastmilk or pedilyte and when eating solid foods to do starchy things like rice, oatmeal, sweet potato. I was so tired today I actually feel asleep at 6pm in my high chair after eating a few ounces of sweet potato. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day!

Work and Play

Work! I had my first homework assignment this week at baby school. Mommy and me had to work on it together. She made the tree and star and cut out shapes for me to glue on. I think it turned out great (and the paper tastes great too)!

Play! My neighbors gave me this cool toy to play with, it is also very tasty!

Calling all Super Readers!

Dexter gets to watch 2 shows on TV: Super Why and Signing Time. Dan and I are always saying that we have a super big problem like they do on Super Why. So when I saw Dexter struggling to crawl forward (which he finally did today after 2months of crawling backwards!) I thought of Super Why. Hope you enjoy the video :)

Also congratulations to our friends Jon & Kristin who welcomed a baby girl into their family tonight - Aine Kay McCall 7lbs 1oz Yea!

Blueberries

I like to feed myself now. I am always taking the spoon away from my mommy or daddy. I also like to put my fingers in the food and try to get it in my mouth (or in my hair or face ). During the day my parents try to stop me from doing this, but at dinner time mommy lets me feed myself since I am about to get a bath. In this picture I just finished eating a yummy pear, blueberry & oatmeal combo.

New Videos

Here are yet more videos of me...my parents are obsessive.

Here is mommy reading my favorite book to me: Elmo's "So Big!"

And here is me from this morning. I am trying to pull up on things to stand up. I am also (not shown in this video) getting very good at transferring smoothly from sitting up to on my belly.

Kailee

Yesterday was my parents anniversary. My mommy and daddy have been married for 6 years (but mommy counts the 4 years they dated and said 10 years to me) This wonderful lady named Kailee came to play with me so my parents could eat dinner out and watch a movie. She was loads of fun. We played games had food and then I went to bed. I was an angel and didn't even cry once for her. Don't I look like a little angel?

My mommy wanted me to tell you that "The Blind Side" is an excellent movie, in fact the audience clapped when it was over it was so good. So if your reading this, get Kailee to watch your kids and go out and watch it!

Mrs. Santa!

Remember when I met Santa Claus? Well today at the library on base was Mrs. Santa Claus!! She told us stories and sang songs and promised to pass on to her husband any last minute toy wishes. It was a lot of fun to meet her. There were probably 30 kids there including one of my best friends from "mommy and me" class. Don't we both look so cute in our holiday bests.

Santa

Yesterday Santa Claus came to Kirtland Air Force Base!! I got to meet him and one of his elf helpers. It was all very exciting. At first I wasn't too sure about him, then I thought maybe he was grandfather all dressed up, but then I decided I liked him. Sure was nice of Santa to take a break from making toys to come visit us.

High Chair

I am over 7 months old now and I finally have a high chair! Up until now I have been eating my solid meals in my bumbo. That works fine for me. I love to play this little game called "rip the tray off the bumbo" during my meal - mommy loves it! Or maybe she doesn't? We went to Target yesterday and bought this high chair for my meals. Daddy and I put it together just in time for dinner last night (yummy homemade squash, applesauce & rice medley). I am really branching out in my food choices lately. I tried turkey this week (my first protein) and Thursday mommy is giving me mango! How fancy does that sound!

Snow & Videos

Today I saw my first snow. It's very white and cold. Mommy put me in a coat made for a 2 year old. She is so silly sometimes.

Here are 3 videos of me. Mommy finally caught up with all her video editing! Also all the pictures through November are posted on the site (links above)

Here is me yesterday playing with wooden blocks that nana, mommy & daddy painted for me back when I was in mommy's tummy.

Here is a video of me and my great-grandma!

Here is a video of me on my last day in Ohio! I was playing with Cole and Luke my cousins.

Nooblet

Noob n. a person who is new or inexperienced in a subject, usually an online game. Noob is short for "newbie", another slang term that comes from the word "new". The word "noob" or "newbie" originated in World War II. It was a word veterans used to describe new recruits.

I am definatly a noob, or nooblet as my shirt says. But I am learning every day something new!

7 months!

Weight: 18 pounds 1.5oz Height: 28.8 inches

Skills:
Physically: I can stand up leaning against a toy or box or coffee table for around 10 minutes without any assistance. Moving forward is still a challenge for me, somehow I can do it in my crib at night but not so much during the day when people are watching. I can feed myself cheerios and I can drink from a sippy cup.
Verbally: I am a chatterbox of vowels and consonants but no actual words still. I love to laugh and smile.

Likes: I like reading books. I like to play patty-cake and I like to give High-5's. Walks with the dogs. Going places like grocery stores, libraries, malls & restaurants - anyplace I can look at people and smile at them.

Dislikes: I dislike 7pm. I try so hard to stay up later than 7 but for some reason I just cant do it!

Highlights of the month and what is to come:
This month I moved to New Mexico. There was a lot of new people to meet and things to do. This upcoming month my mom will start a new job so I will have to go to daycare more often (fine by me! I love it) Christmas will be the highlight of this month. Our tree is up and I love looking at the lights. I have read several books about Christmas, and I am excited for Santa to come.

Fever

Wednesday I had 4 vaccines and a flu shot. My mommy gave me Tylenol that day and night but Thursday afternoon I got a fever. It was 102.5 at the max and was pretty much 100-101 all evening. I had to leave daycare, I was nice to mommy and timed that phone call for 15minutes after her job interview ended. Last night I couldn't sleep. I went to bed at 7:30pm, woke up at 11 and wouldn't go back to sleep for an hour, then woke up again at 3:30 and again at 5:30. Having a fever is no fun!! Well I do get extra cuddles from mommy and daddy so I guess its not all bad.

Random things

This photo is about 2 weeks out of chronological order for my blog but I was just going over my November pictures to upload to the website and found this on mommy's phone! What a great picture of my grandfather and me!

Other exciting things today:
1) It is snowing with 26 mph wind gusts here in Albuquerque....freezing!!!
2) Mommy has a job interview this afternoon so I get to go to daycare, yea! It is for a PACU job at Lovelace Women's Hospital. Next week she should interview at University of New Mexico hospital also.
3) Daddy officially started his job this week, he gave me a business card so he must be really important. It says he is the Ops Team Lead for the Directed Energy Directorate, High Power Microwave Applications. (hopefully that is not top secret, I mean its on his business card so...)

Doctor Visit

I saw my new doctor today. She examined me and told me I am a perfectly healthy and happy boy (which I already knew). I weigh 18 lbs 1.5oz (45% percentile) and am 28.8 inches long (89% percentile). I also got 4 vaccines and a flu shot today! The doctor said I am doing great and should be sleeping through the night now. I was sleeping through the night when I lived in Ohio, but when I was traveling all over the country I started waking up again around 3am for food. Now that I am back home I will try to sleep all night again. My crib is much more comfortable than that pack n play. I have slept a couple times this past week from 7:30pm -5:30am, it just happens to be the 2 days mommy has brought me to daycare - that place is exhausting! So much to see and do I cant be bothered to take long day naps. I don't have another checkup until I am 1 year old. At that appointment I have a doctor visit, a dentist visit and more shots!

Enough blogging, I need some Tylenol and a nap after my busy morning.

ps. My height & weight stats prove I am no chunky monkey - I am a lean mean fighting machine like my Daddy!

Toasty-o's

For the past couple nights mommy has given me these little Toasty-o's to eat. She said it is fine motor skills practice, but I say its just good eating. I pick them up and then have to decide should I eat them or throw them at one of the doggies to eat. Afterward I take a drink of water from my sippy cup. It took me several days to figure out that sippy cup but now I am really good at drinking from it.

Chunky Monkey

Not sure why mommy calls me her chunky monkey. Its all muscle!

I love bath time, my new kitchen sink fits me perfectly and I get to splash water everywhere!

Game day

In Honor of Timmy Tebow’s last game in the Swamp fans are asking people at the game to wear eye black with a saying or bible verse on them like Tim does for each game. Since I cant be there for the game and I am really too young to be putting stickers or black makeup on my face mommy just photo shopped some eye black for me.

GO GATORS!!!

Touchdown Tebow!!

Thanks, part 2

I am thankful for my new IKEA bookcase my daddy put together for me and I am thankful for all the toys that go in it! I went to a new friends house yesterday for thanksgiving and they gave me lots of cool toys they are too big for! Wasn’t that nice of them. Thanksgiving is fun, you get all the sweet potatoes you can eat! I hope everyone else had a fun Thanksgiving full of good food, naps and toys like I did.

Livestrong

My Mommy often tells me I am a livestrong baby. Well today my nana needs some of my lifestrong powers since she is having surgery for clear cell endometrial cancer. I really hope it goes well because I love her sooooo much. Hopefully she can tell I am sending livestrong vibes to her :)

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today was my daddy's 34th birthday. Birthdays are great, I got to go shopping with mommy and pick out presents for daddy and me! I played with this activity table at Rowan's house when I visited his family and loved it so much my mommy bought me one. It's so fun, I can practice standing up and I love the music and lights!

Petroglyphs

Yesterday I went for a hike! Me, Mommy, Daddy and Grandfather all went to the Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque. It is about 15 minutes from my house. The park has several trails to hike on. We went on a 1.5 mile easy level hike. It was cool to see all the volcanic rocks & petroglyphs, I can't wait to go back again! You cant really tell in this photo but we are about 50-60 feet high which was a fun climb. Overall we were one mile above sea level - the altitude and dry air takes some getting used to. Grandfather left today to go back to Florida, I will sure miss him!

Mommy & Me

I told you yesterday about a large park next to my house, well today I went back. Mommy brought me to my first workout class called "Mommy & me" It was a ton of fun. I got to sit on yoga mats and play with other kids in between putting as many leaves in my mouth as possible! The moms did loops around the park pushing us in strollers and then did various workout drills at stations set up around the park. This picture was taken at the end during stretching & ab work. I am the little boy in blue sitting next to my new girlfriend in pink.

Kirtland AFB

I arrived Tuesday at 6:30 Mountain Time to my new home in Albuquerque New Mexico (the house on the right in the picture). It was dark so I couldn't see much that night, plus I was super exhausted from sleeping all day in the car. To my surprise when I arrived Daddy, Bosley & Ophelia were all here to meet me! Today Daddy showed Mommy, Grandfather and me around our new base. We went to my new daycare and met my teachers and classmates. There are 8 babies (age 6mo-12mo) in the room. I am the youngest. They were all so cool, some could even walk! We walked around the base to a large park where several people were out walking around or playing soccer. We went to the gym, the indoor swimming pool, the bowling alley, the commissary, the VA Hospital and where daddy is going to work. I also rode a pelican...as seen below. Overall a great first day in my new home.

Wedding Site

I wanted to revisit the Baughman Center during my stay in Gainesville. It was the wonderful location of my wedding and even though Dex is little I wanted him to see it. It's such a beautiful location, any visitor to Gainesville needs to see it in person.

My cup

Mommy bought me a sippy cup today. Lately I have been trying to take sips of water from other people's big cups so she thought I should have my own. I am not quite sure how it works, does the water come out of the handle or spout?
