Slip and slide!

We finally played with my birthday present slip and slide.  I played with my neighbors Aurora, Josh and Kyle.  Even Daddy was sliding.   It was tons of fun!

Ben & Nicole turn 5

I spent the weekend in Maryland for cousins Ben and Nicole's 5th birthday party.  We had a great time playing together, and with their other cousins Parker and Caroline.  Their party was a pirate theme. We went swimming, to a playground and then home for cake and presents. The next day we went to a farm and picked strawberries!  I had a great weekend with them!

Minecraft

Serious Old Man Dexter

Fun Kid Dexter

Like my cousin Cole, I love Minecraft.  Today I watched several of his videos on youtube: Cole Minecraft and felt compelled to make my own video in response.  Warning: it is a 7 minute long video that Dexter filmed all on his own, enjoy :)

Tball update

The Thresher Shark season is past the half way point of the season now.  The team is getting better and even making some outs on defense several times a game.  Dexter is becoming a consistent hitter, but fielding and throwing needs more practice.  Today the team had a double header!  All the kids played hard and had more energy than the parents by the end of it :)

Tball ends mid-June and then I will just focus on swimming for the rest of the summer.  Perhaps in the fall I will play a new sport or Tball again.

The Lion Chi Temple!

For my birthday I got several awesome Lego sets.  The Lion Chi Temple was one I had begged mommy for all month long and I got it for my birthday!  It is a massive set with 1258 pieces and it took me 4 days of building to complete it.  It has trap doors, missile launchers, 3 vehicles, 8 mini-figures,jail cells, waterfalls and so much more!

5th Birthday!

On my birthday we had a celebration at school.  Mommy and Daddy came to my class and we did our special birthday tradition.  The birthday kid sits in the middle with the earth globe, we sing "The earth goes around the sun and then Dexter was 1 (2,3,4,5)" and after each time I walk around the sun Ms. Kyou-Bin tells the class what I did that year and shows them a picture of me.  I was very excited to show my friends pictures of me when I was a baby.  I also showed mommy and daddy around my classroom and showed them how I am learning to spell small words by sounding out each letter, like cat, rat, etc.

Vital Stats:
Weight: 38.2 pounds  Height: 42.75 inches
Clothes I wear size 4T shirts and pants, size 10 shoes

Skills:
Physically: I am very physically active, I like to run and jump and play - perhaps this lead to me breaking 2 bones this year.

Verbally: My speech continues to improve and I am much more talkative than I was a year ago.  "S" still tends to be the hardest letter for me to pronounce but I am working on it at my speech class twice a week.

Likes: Mommy asked me a series of questions about my favorite things so here you go -
Favorite friends at school - Edward & Miles
Favorite friends at home - Josh & Kyle
Favorite teachers - Ms. Kyou-Bin & Ms. Amanda
Favorite food - Peanut butter mini-bagel
Favorite TV show - I dont really watch TV - but I will watch any "Evan tube" video on youtube
Favorite Movie - Transformers 1
Favorite toy - Legos
Favorite place to go - Disneyworld
Favorite dog - Ophelia
Favorite animal - Giraffe
Favorite color - All colors
Favorite dessert - Chocolate
Favorite superhero - Batman
Favorite sport - swimming

Dislikes: Not a whole lot, I am a pretty mellow kid.  As long as I have some warning that change is coming (like bed in 10minutes or we are leaving soon) I tolerate change.  Sometimes I don't want to go to sleep because I would rather keep playing, but I go to bed without a fight.

What is to come: I have about 6 more weeks of school and then our family will go to Florida to celebrate my great-nana's 90th birthday!  Later that summer I get to go back to Florida for nana's 70th birthday party! September 2nd I officially become a kindergartener.

Nicole, Dexter and Ben after the party
Today was Dexter's big 5th Birthday party.  It was a great party filled with tons of play on the bouncy house and exercise equipment in the basement and with Transformer and Lego toys play in the playroom.  Occasionally the kids would emerge from play long enough to eat pizza or cake outside on our patio.  The weather was perfect outside.   We had Mommy co-worker kids: Raine, Jayden, JV, Hayden, Carter, Caleb, Amelia & Zach.  We also had neighborhood kids: Josh, Kyle, Mackenzie, Aurora and Caleb.   It was an awesome day and I think all the kids went home exhausted!
