Too cold to bike

It is way to cold to ride in my bike trailer right now.  However, that doesn't stop me from playing in it every time I see it in the garage!

Doctor Visit

Today I had my 18 month old checkup.  It was a lot of fun.  I got to wait in a room with crayons and a little table and draw until the doctor was ready to see me. 

My official stats are:  Weight 25 lbs 3oz (20-25%), Height 32.6 inches (50-75%), Head circumference 49.7cm (90-95%)

My doctor was very pleased with my exam, said I was very healthy and happy.   The only area of concern was that I wasn't talking more.  I only say about 5 words and she wanted me to say more than 7 words and soon start putting 2 words together.  So I have to work on that for the next few months so when I see her at 2 years old I have a very big vocabulary. 

I was supposed to get some shots today also but when I went to the shot clinic they said I wasn't due until the 19th, so I get a few more days before I get shots!

I am one and a half years old!

Here is a breakdown of my many accomplishments over the last 3 months:

Weight: About 26 pounds. I still wear size 18month pants, 2T shirts and size 4 shoes.  I have my next doctor visit on Monday so I will give you official height and weights then.

Skills:
Physically: Gross motor:  I can run!  This usually leads to me falling down after tripping on my own feet, but I just get up and try again.   I can get on and off my horse and then rock back and forth.  I love to climb on playgrounds and can go down slides by myself. 
Fine Motor: I love to play with pens and markers to try and draw.

Verbally:  Mama, Dadda, Ball, More are the only words mommy can understand, although I will clearly point to things and say a sentence they just look at me confused.  My favorite new signs are bath and airplane.

Likes:  I like to help put away things or clean my table after a meal (usually a very messy table after I have eaten).  I love being outside and walking the dogs.  I like to ask for more food every chance I get.  I like to dance.  I like putting things where they belong and yet I like to destroy things also.   I love baths.  I love watching “super why” with breakfast.  I like to say night-night to my dogs and daddy every night.

Dislikes:  I dislike being carried when mommy and daddy don’t think I am walking good enough.   I don’t like going to baby school in the morning unless they have already started breakfast then its fine for you to leave me there.  

What is to come:  The big excitement for the next three months is Christmas with my cousins!  I get to fly on an airplane and play with Cole and Luke for 2 weeks in Ohio.  We have all sorts of fun things planned while I am there like the zoo and science centers.  Also mommy is going to try and make me a brother or sister while I am there, not sure what that means but I guess it is ok.

Good Morning

My new favorite breakfast is eating half a blueberry bagel and drinking a nice cup of cold milk.    So Yummy!  Mommy is not sure how I have room for all that bagel, but I am a growing boy!

Happy Halloween!

 Good thing when Dexter got tired of walking Tyler wanted to help pull him.

Check out this pirate booty!  We trick or treated for about 30-40 minutes around base housing before heading home and handing out candy ourselves.  It was a pretty good turn out and Dexter really liked handing out candy at home, or at least moving candy from his bucket into the bucket we were using to store the neighborhood kid's candy.  I will post a few more pictures on facebook.

Pumpkin

We finally carved a pumpkin today and just in time for Halloween tomorrow!

Chillin

Not much going on here in New Mexico.  It turned cold last week so I have to sport the pajama's with feet on them again.  Here are a few pictures of me playing with my legos and showing daddy the artwork I made at school today.

Little Gamer

I love to sit on big people chairs and type on the computer.  I am also wearing headphones so I can chat online with all my friends.

I am a good dog walker

This is not my best video - its dark out & there are random noises in the background but I feel like I haven't posted a video in a while so here goes.  Our evening walk is a great family time for us.  Normally Dexter would be pushed in a stroller or carried in a backpack.  But over the past few weeks we have let him walk with us.  The first couple walks were slow and off-track but lately Dexter has really become a great walker with us.  He is also in charge of walking one of the dogs, normally Ophelia but sometimes he tries to walk Bosley.  Dexter is becoming pretty good at walking the dogs also, he turns around or changes the leash to the other hand if the dog walks onto his opposite side.  Dexter understands the concept of staying off the road (but not off people's "lawn") and actually keeps a good pace now with only a few wonders off during our 30 minute walk.

Teeth

I may only have 4 teeth still - but they are the cleanest teeth you will find.  I brush them every morning and night and now at school I brush my teeth! 

RIP

We went to a Halloween store today to buy my pirate sword and Halloween candy bucket.  We also left with some foam swords and some decorations for the "lawn".   The store was a lot of fun.  There were cool things all over the place that interested me, mommy was scared of somethings, but not me!

Potty

Potty is my latest sign.   Your supposed to put your thumb between your first 2 fingers and then shake your fist side to side - I am pretty close. I have the side to side movement but I keep my thumb out.  But I really have this sign down.  I have already done it three times this morning, once for poop and twice for pee!  Wet diapers really don't bother me but I do enjoy the quick attention this sign gets me!

Pudding!

When my grandfather was here I was introduced to jello pudding.  It is amazing!

I am a very careful eater.  I always use my spoon, but sometimes my spoon doesn't get everything in my mouth.

Next Round of IVF has started

Ah, my old friend the ultrasound machine.  

Round Two of In Vitro Fertilization officially started today.  I got bloodwork, an ultrasound and started on a birth control pill.  In a few weeks I will start on shots and more ultrasounds, etc in preparation for the big day December 17th back in Ohio.  This will be a frozen embryo transfer so the process will be a bit easier than a fresh cycle.  I will be sure to let you know how things go.

I had to say goodbye to my grandfather today, I will miss having him around. It was so nice to have another person to play with everyday!

I'm a pirate!

Thank you Gram for making my halloween pirate costume! I really love it. Now I just need to get my pirate sword and hem the pants up a little bit and I will be ready to trick or treat!

Day One of Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

I took over 100 pictures today at the morning session of the balloon fiesta. I didn't know what to expect, but it was really really cool! Hundreds of balloons were there and you got to walk up right next to them all. So many colors and shapes. It was really cool to watch them inflate and lift off. Tomorrow night we are going back for more, this time with Dexter and Dan joining my dad and I. I encourge anyone who wants to visit us while we are living here over the next 2-3 years to come in early October so you can check out the balloon fiesta!

Hiking

I went hiking in the Sandia mountains yesterday with mommy and grandfather. I am a great hiker! I hiked for an hour on mommy's back with only occasional animal cracker and water breaks needed.

Grandfather is here!

My grandfather was here when I woke up this morning! How great is that?? He is here to play with me for the next 10 days and I can't wait to show him all around. We will see balloons and playgrounds and mountains!

Before I can read a book, I must pull all the books off the shelf so I can see them easier and decide which I want to read.
