Legos and Science
This weekend was full of Legos and a little bit of science. I built my 2nd Lego project. It is a scene from the new Lego Movie. It took about 5 hours to finish it all but well worth it!
Then tonight Dad did some science with me. We filled a plate with milk then added food coloring drops. Then you put a q-tip in and see what happens....nothing. Then you put a q-tip in that has dish soap on it and the colors burst out in all directions away from the q-tip...pretty cool stuff.
Tomorrow is Presidents Day. I can now name four presidents - Washington, Lincoln, Kennedy and Obama. I am sure there are a few more I will learn about tomorrow at school.

Planets
My latest song for your pleasure - The Planet Song!
Well, the sun's a hot star... Mercury's is hot too.
Venus is the
brightest planet... Earth's home to me and you.
Mars is the red planet.
Jupiter's most wide.
Saturn's got those icy ring's, and Uranus spins on
its side.
Neptune's really windy, and Pluto's is a dwarf planet.
This is our solar system, now we know our solar system!

Valentines prep
This week at school we have been making Valentines day crafts - including creepy masks, kissy fish and a valentines frame. We will have a big party on Friday, unless the massive snow storm hits and cancels school.

Nifty Fifty
The Nifty Fifty states song has been playing almost daily here. Here is my version:
Next at school we are going to start learning about Presidents. I already know all about George Washington from my trip to Mount Vernon last month. Now I need to learn about the others.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Happy Chinese New Year! It is the year of the horse and my school had a big party today to celebrate. We had crafts, food and a Lion Dance! I hope everyone has a great year! I will turn 5 this year, start Kindergarden and make several trips to Florida, Maryland and Ohio - can't wait!
