Sunday Mornings

Sunday mornings are all about sitting on the couch eating pancakes and watching movies. Today I am watching "how to train my dragon".  That movie is my cousin Luke's favorite.
In the top picture I am sitting on mommy and daddy's new bedsheet set they bought yesterday - it is fun to climb on!

Giraffe

Yesterday I went to the zoo after it was closed.  Mommy's work was having a party there.  Going to the zoo after hours is awesome!  The animals are much more playful when it is cooler out and I didn't have to fight the crowds to see the animals.  My favorite was the gorilla because I like to beat my chest and make gorilla noises. 

Monkey

Fun times at the base playground.   Swinging is my favorite.  I did it for 30minutes non-stop on Saturday (thanks Daddy for pushing me).  Mommy made me stop after 10 minutes today.

Borders & Water

Borders bookstore is out of business so we went there today to get some books.  We walked out with every Curious George book they sold plus a couple toy story books. 

After the bookstore I got to play in the water splashpad thing at the outdoor mall. (not sure who the boy is who hugged me - the ladies love me and the boys want to be me)

Pool time

In preparation for my Ohio vacation next month mommy bought me a little pool like my cousins have.  This way I should be more comfortable in the water and want to play with them in the pool.   Tonight was my first day in my pool and I love it!

Buzz Lightyear!

I love Toy Story.  I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and I cannot get enough of the movie.  Whenever I want to watch it I ask mommy or daddy for "more buzz"  Well when I got home today from school Buzz Lightyear was in my living room!

Hinkle Family Fun Center

Well our friends the Fitzgerald's moved to Germany.  I will miss Sean and Tyler so much (and all the toys and clothes they gave me since I moved here)  In our last weekend together we went to the Hinkle Family Fun center! We rode in water bumper boats and got soaked!  We rode go-carts, mommy and daddy climbed a big rock wall, we played arcade games and ate food.  If I was bigger we could have played laser tag, paintball or putt-putt golf - perhaps before we move in 2013 I will be big enough to do those things also.

 Like my new hat and glasses?

I only have two speeds: Running or standing still.  At night, 6-6:30pm,  when it finally gets below 100 degrees and we can walk the dogs I mix running with being tired - this occasionally makes me trip and fall down.  Well tonight I fell three times on my walk and by the time we got home I had blood dripping down my elbow from an old scab I ripped open on fall number two.  This earned me my first band-aid.   Daddy was oddly proud of this band-aid. 

Curious George

I love my Curious George.  I take him to bed with me every night.  I bring him around the house with me whenever I read my books or watch TV.  He is the best!

On a potty training note:  I spent 6 hours running around the house naked today - that was fun.  What was odd was anytime I started to pee mommy ran me to the bathroom.  It was almost a game, I would pee a tiny bit just to see her run.  But I wouldn't pee in the bathroom.  One time I jumped up and ran to the bathroom before I peed, but then I just sat on the potty so mommy would read my potty book to me again.  However after several hours of this I got tired and got a pull up off the changing table and put it on.  Mommy gave up for the day.  Dexter 1, Mommy 0.  She said she would try again in a couple weeks :)

Potty Training

Potty Training is officially starting at home.  He sits on the potty at school and randomly at home but now I am going to work on it more.  He wears pull-ups now which are easier for him to take off and put on by himself.  I went to a potty training class at his preschool and they just focused on making it low stress for both parent and child, encouraging him to use the potty within 30minutes of eating a meal/drinking and asking him if he needs to use the potty every hour.  Also anytime we leave the house we should get him in the habit of using the potty. 

Above is Dex sitting on the potty while reading his potty time for boys book.  He can't move into the 3 year old room at school until he is potty trained so that is the goal for the next 10 months :)

iPad + Handy Manny + Puzzles

This game breaks up Handy Manny pictures into 8 pieces and then I get to put the puzzle back together.   It is so much fun! I can do easy level (8 pieces) but cant get the hard or hardest levels yet.  Just wait though.  There is a matching game I play also and it took me a couple weeks to master but now I can easily remember where I saw a shape and match them up. 

Too Cool

I am too cool for this Albuquerque sunshine.  I always wear my floppy hat and sunglasses (inverted) whenever I walk the dogs.  Its 6:30 at night but its still 95 degrees and sunny here.  It doesn't get dark for another couple hours.

Sadly when I got home from this walk I threw my hat and glasses down and then spun around in joy, lost my balance and sat right down on my glasses breaking them into 3 pieces. 

Cheese

I like to say cheese whenever I play with the tripod.  For some reason I dont say cheese when an actual camera is involved.
