Tooth!
I finally have a tooth, it is on the bottom. I don't have a picture of this because it is hard to capture, but trust me it is there. Mommy is happy she was beginning to wonder if I had any teeth at all!

Mommy's homework assignment from photography class is to capture something in motion. So during our walk today we tried to get the doggies running. We might try again tomorrow because mommy wants to get one with their ears out (like they dont look funny enough!) Nice one inch elevation they got there.
During the walk I just wanted to eat something - stroller will do. I have been eating everything in sight this last week - I am up to 3 solid meals & 1 snack a day and my milk intake is 5 bottles of 6-7 oz. Mommy really hopes its a growth spurt because she is running through the frozen milk stash to keep up with me.

Get me out of this prison cell! Don't get me wrong, I love my bed and generally sleep like a rock for 11 hours straight but when 6am hits I like to try and escape. I am usually too sleepy still to actually make it out but I like to be standing or at least kneeling against the rails when mommy comes to get me.

At my friend Tyler's birthday party he had a present wrapped in this shinny paper. I love this paper. It is my favorite thing ever. I can chew on it & drool on it and it never breaks down. It makes a cool noise when I play with it and it is so shinny!

Things went well at the doctor visit today. Dexter's sats were 95% on room air. His ear infection looks better but not completely cleared up - he still has 3.5 more days of his antibiotic for that. He is still getting 1-2 breathing treatments a day as needed for wheezing and we can continue that for the next few weeks. He will not have another doctor visit unless he gets worse. So that is all from here, hopefully Dan and I are almost done being sick as well.
I added in this video that Dan shot on his iPhone while waiting on the doctor.....enjoy.

I am feeling so much better now, so I have decided to learn how to walk. I have a fancy car that compacts into a walker that is just perfect for practicing on.
It is hard work but I see everyone else walking around and I want to join in on this.

Dan got his PhD diploma in the mail last week (thanks Jon for mailing it!) so here I am modeling it for you. I guess he gets a blank piece of paper at the ceremony in March.
I am feeling much better now, but mommy and daddy are now sick with the cold. I will do my best to take care of them this weekend!

Mommy had to go to work today so Daddy went with me to see the doctor. My sats on Oxygen was 94-95% and off Oxygen 91%. My ear infection is now in both ears. Despite this my doctor told daddy I dont need to wear the Oxygen any longer and can do the albuterol breathing treatments as needed. I dont know why my oxygen level is low and the doctor didnt give any explanation as to why it remains low. Hopefully when we go back on Monday it will be in the normal range - if not mommy will be asking to see a specialist or at least run some additional tests.
Here is a picture of me and daddy after our fun day together! Daddy said he wants to be a stay at home daddy after all the fun we had.

Dexter saw the doctor yesterday. His ear infection is looking better already. His sats were 97% on 0.5 L oxygen and when we took it off he gradually drifted down to 88% over 30 minutes. So the plan is to continue on home oxygen and breathing treatments until we follow up again Thursday morning. Last night he slept a lot better than he has since saturday so hopefully the worst has past!

I didnt think my 8 month birthday would be spent going to doctors and wearing Oxygen - good thing I am so laid back and willing to wear the oxygen for mommy and daddy.
Weight: 18 pounds 8.5oz
Skills:
Physically: I can crawl all over the house now. I can pull myself from crawling to resting on my knees with my hands on something like a table or lap. I have twice so far gone from the resting on my knees to pulling myself up to a standing position. I am getting better at feeding myself - I can gnaw on a teething biscuit for a long time and can get alot more cheerios actually in my mouth now.
Verbally: No words yet. I am great at grunts and spitting - does that count?
Likes: I like watching TV (shush..dont tell anyone). I like when my stuffed animals give me kisses. I still love reading books and going for walks - not much has changed there in 8 months. I like crawling to the doggies water and food bowl and splashing the water or trying to eat their food. Bosley is not a fan of this.
Dislikes: Albuterol breathing treatments & coughing
New Foods since my last update: Grains - Pasta, Fruits - Mango, Peaches, Plums, Blueberries. Vegetables - Carrots, Peas, Zucchini . Protein - Turkey, Chicken & Tofu. My next new foods are yogurt, eggplant and melons - can't wait!
Highlights of the month and what is to come:
This month had the excitement of Christmas and New Years which was great. Ended badly with me being sick since January 2nd and now having to get breathing medicines and Oxygen. Next month I dont have anything planned yet - just lots of growing and loving is in store.

I am sick. I have RSV which led to me getting an ear infection in my left ear and getting Bronchiolitis. Since Friday I had a low grade fever of 100.5 and a cough. The last two nights I have not slept well waking up every hour or two. Well this morning I decided to finally get my mommy's attention by wheezing and breathing faster. Finally she thought I should visit the doctor! Went I went in they hooked me up to a sats monitor and my oxygen level was only 88% (good would be above 94%) They didnt believe that number because I am so handsome and was smiling at the nurses. But after double checking, it was true. They put me on Oxygen and gave me a breathing treatment of albuterol. My sats after an hour or so was 92-95% on 0.5L of oxygen so they said I could go home, but I have to go home on Oxygen. I also have to do the breathing treatments every 6hours, take a steroid and an antibiotic for the ear infection. I go back tomorrow to the doctor - hopefully I am way better and dont need the oxygen any longer.
