Moving Truck

Moving truck is all packed. Dan & dogs leave Monday and Ali, Dexter
and cat leave Thursday. Next update from Heather's house on Halloween!

Dexter went to the doctor today

Dexter saw the doctor today, he enjoyed playing with the paper and Dan's hat more than anything though. He has a little cold (like everyone else does in Ohio) but otherwise doing great.

This is an attempt to work on photoshop skills by making a little photo collage.

Blog changes

I am hard at work making some changes to the layout of my blog to feature the pictures more. I hope you like the new layout. It is a bit more streamlined than the last one. I am not going to go back and make all the photos larger right now, but I plan on making future pictures the large size. I am still working on it adding back in links and such that I lost in the format transfer, some are at the bottom of the page, some are at the top, some didn't make the transition.

Mommy's goal for this upcoming year is to learn some photography skills. She hopes to take some photography classes in New Mexico and get a better camera. I will of course love to model for her! She is also going to turn the blog from start until the move into a book so it's saved in printed form. The plan is to make a book after each Air Force Move.

New way to sleep

This is my new favorite way to sleep. As soon as I am placed down on my back in my crib I roll over to my belly and then tuck my knees under and stick my butt in the air. This way I can practice crawling in my sleep. The only bad part is I wake up and half my face is red from sleeping on it for hours.

Pack n Play

Did you know my downstairs diaper changing station is really a playpen? Mommy has decieded that since I like to crawl backwards under coffee tables, under desks and into the kitchen that maybe I should just crawl in circles in my pack-n-play. It's also a great place to sit up and play because when I toss my toys around they cant go far!

Where the Wild Things Are

This is my favorite book. I love to Roar my terrible roar, gnash my terrible teeth, roll my terrible eyes and show my terrible claws. Tigerlily likes it also :)

Dexter really enjoys playing peek-a-boo lately. He likes to laugh everytime Dan or I jump out from around the kitchen wall. Hope it brings a smile to your day :)

Balance

Standing is hard work, well actually the balance is the hard part.

Either I lean to far back......or I lean to far forward.

Either way, I like to stand and I am sure I will continue to improve my balance. Maybe I should start doing yoga with mommy.

My first class photo

This is my first official class photo. Don't we all look attentive! The teacher is Mrs. Nikki on her last day of with us. She is moving to another base with her husband, she is a South Carolina gamecock fan - but I still loved her!

Artsy Photo

My attempt to make an artsy photo. I am hoping I can take several pictures we have and photoshop them some and hang on our walls at our new place. Below is the original, I just cut out the hands, added a neutral background, made it B&W and softened the edges some.

5 month update

Here is a video/photo slideshow mommy made about me. It is on youtube, but they have silly copyright rules about certain songs - so I uploaded it to blogger also. Hope you enjoy it and the song.

Weight = 17.6 pounds!

Stuff I am working on:
Crawling - I get up onto my hands and knees and rock back and forth but can't seem to move forward. I can crawl backwards just fine :)
Standing - I can stand up with minimal assistance really well, in fact I have stood up holding on to a table for a good 15 seconds a couple times now.
Fine Motor Skills - I am getting good at grabbing small objects and placing them in my mouth. I am really good at using all the toys on my exercauser.

Likes:
Going for walks is still my favorite. I got a new carrier for my daily walks which has taken a bit of getting used to but I enjoy it once the motion of walking starts.
I like eating solid foods - Sweet Potato, Avocado & Bananna are all great to eat. I get one new food each week. Next up are squash, apples, green beans & in honor of the upcoming holiday - pumpkin!

Dislikes:
I get fussy if I am in one place for too long. I like to alternate between crawling, being held, sleeping, standing up and going outside.
I love flipping onto my belly and doing pushups, but then I get tired and upset because I seem to forgot how to roll back onto my back.

Highlights of the month and what is to come: This month I took my first long car trip and it went really well. I got to meet my gram, my aunt Debbie, uncle Joe and their kids & dogs. These next few weeks my house will be packed up, I will spend my last few days at daycare with my teachers and friends and I will head out for an even longer car trip to visit all sorts of relatives on the way to my new home in New Mexico. This is going to be quite an exciting month for me (and mommy and daddy too!)

Hitting the Gym

I am such a nice morning person. Lately I wake up and just want to play and talk for a good 30 minutes before eating my breakfast. Granted I do wake up hungry at 5am (sleeping since 9pm) but go back to bed and wake up again at 8am, ready to officially start my day. Here I am playing contently while I let Mommy eat her breakfast, see I told you I am nice!
