Thor!

Today was "the best Halloween ever!!"   I dressed up like Thor and went trick or treating with my good friends Josh and Kyle.  We hit every single house in my neighborhood and now I have so much candy!! Everyone said I made a good Thor with my hammer, helmet and my big muscles.   That was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again next year!

Ohio Fun

I love visiting my family in Ohio.  Uncle Jeff, Aunt Heather, cousins Cole and Luke are just so much fun!  I spent Saturday playing legos and playdoh and Sunday at a fall festival.  I wish I could see them more often!

Sports!

Mom has me very busy on Saturdays.  I have a few more weeks of soccer and today I start swim lessons at an indoor swimming pool.  I am wearing my official swim uniform.  It is supposed to help the kids feel like it is more of a sport and have fun since they have a uniform to put on.   Swim lessons this summer was rough, it was chilly in the mornings and I only participated in a couple of the classes - mom and dad are hoping with warm water and small class sizes (3 kids only) I will actually swim!

Speech Classes

I have been going to Glenkirk Elementary school for 4 weeks now every Monday and Wednesday for speech class.  It is fun to ride the bus (zero bus issues, unlike New Mexico) and show Mommy what we worked on that day.  It is not as intensive as the New Mexico program was but it is all school year long so I will be getting speech help consistently all year which should help prepare me for Kindergarten.   This week we were focusing on the "L" sound and we used the tongue depressor to help make the "LLLLL"sound you make at the doctor.  The depressor was grape flavored, which is amazing.

Go Gators

I am about to head off to a birthday party, but when I come home it will be football time!  Florida plays LSU today and hopefully the Gators win!

Helper

I helped Daddy change the oil in the cars and I helped my classroom art project this week by supplying the flowers.  I am a big helper!

Weekend Fun!

Darth Dexter!

Riding the train
This weekend while Mommy was running a race Daddy and I went to Maryland to visit family.  Gram made me some new clothes!  A Jedi robe and some fun cameo shorts.  On Saturday Gram's town was having a fall festival where you get to ride a train - so we checked that out and all that Hurlock, MD has to offer :)

Meanwhile Mommy was doing a race with her co-workers.  It was a 200 mile running race with 12 runners.  Each runner took turns running anywhere from 3-9 miles at a time.  Mommy did leg 5 (4.1 miles), leg 17 (7.3 miles) and leg 29 (3.7 miles).  They raced non-stop from 7am Friday in Cumberland, MD until they finished at the National Harbor in D.C. around 1:30pm Saturday.  It was tons of fun and Mommy wants to do it again next year.  There is one from Miami to Key West her friends are talking about doing in February 2015!
Mom looks good after her final run.  15.1 miles in a 24 hour period and little sleep :)

The 12 runners and our 2 van drivers at the finish line!  Our team name was Capt. Crunch and the cereal killers so we made fun hats to wear between runs.  People's crazy costumes and van decorations were half of the fun!

Soccer practice

I am halfway through the soccer season now and I am starting to get the hang of it all.  I enjoyed practice today, especially since Daddy was an assistant coach!

Saturday I have another game and then we are driving over to Gram's house for the Hurlock, MD fall festival.  Mommy leaves tomorrow for her crazy 200 mile relay race with her coworkers so she is going to miss my game and the trip to Grams.

International Day of Peace

Last Saturday was the International Day of Peace.  We celebrated at my pre-k by making pinwheels.  They look a little sad five days later but on Friday they were spinning around and looking great!  I made a purple one.

Sorry for no updates this week the entire family has been sick with some stomach bug for several days now.  Dan and Dexter are back to normal now but mommy is still feeling pretty crummy.

Dirt pile

What can be more fun than a huge pile of dirt?  Not a whole lot it seems.

Almost every day I want to go play on the dirt pile with my friends Josh and Kyle.  It is behind their house in the final section of housing development.   It should be awesome this winter for sledding, by next winter it will be long gone a replaced with houses.

Soccer highlights

Today was my second game.  Right now I enjoy running around and playing soccer more during the water breaks and halftime breaks than I do the formal game time.  I like to kick the ball but with so many kids and only one ball I lose interest quickly.

I am the blond kid in the gray uniform wearing sunglasses.

Hanging out

Today I finally went to the puppet show at Burger King.  They have one every Tuesday but we had to wait for Daddy to go out of town (he is in Colorado for 2 weeks) to go because Daddy thinks puppets are creepy.  It was fun and the puppet lady was very nice to me.

We finally got the laundry room countertop and sink - now we just have to wait for Daddy to come back to install it and figure out how to do the plumbing for the sink.  Once that is in the awesome laundry room will be complete and we can move on to the next project - get a coffee table and maybe area rug.

We have a lot of sports going on.  I am playing soccer Wednesdays and Saturdays and mommy is playing on a hospital softball team on Sundays.

I start speech therapy next week at Glenkirk Elementary.  I will go every Monday and Wednesday from 9-9:30 all school year long.  My speech teacher's name is Ann Edwards and I can't wait to meet her next week.

On a sad note one of my Mommy's and Aunt Heather's friend in Ohio died this week of a brain aneurysm.  She was only 40 years old and was an amazing woman.  She was a psychology professor with Heather but her hobby was photography.  She took some of the best photos of me over the years and it is sad to think she is gone.   Check out her website (I made the cover): http://www.carolynkaufmanphotography.com/

Soccer practice

I am in the blue T-shirt, 2nd from the top - About to play red light, green light

Today was my first soccer practice.  It was lots of fun!  I met Coach Paul and the 11 other kids on my team.  I got my uniform (I will show you on gameday).  We played fun drills like "red light, green light", "simon says" and "soccer coach is a monster try to kick a ball at him while he runs around"  For the next 8 weeks every Wednesday I have practice and every Saturday I have a game.

Home week!

Normally I have "home days" on weekends, but this week I had "home week"!  My pre-K was closed all week for teacher planning so I spent time with mommy and daddy.  I helped mom hang up Gators decorations in our garage and house.  I spent time with Daddy in the kiddy pool.  I have one more day off before school and work start up again.

Pre-K

Although I have been at my Montessori school since July I was just in summer camp.  Starting Tuesday I will be a big kid in pre-K with other 4 and 5 year olds.  I am in classroom 4 and my primary teacher is Ms. Kyou-Bin Choi.  She is from South Korea and seems very nice.  I also have two assistant teachers - Ms Shahla Ghahramani from Iran and Ms Freda Mhetar from India.  I met all my teachers today at an open house and got to checkout my classroom.  I loved my classes over the summer and can't wait for school to start back up for real!

Jedi Soccer

Apparently I am playing on a soccer team starting in two weeks.  I have soccer socks now which are fun to wear.  I don't really care about practicing or rules yet.  I just want to hit the ball with my lightsaber.

Josh & Kyle

The people who live right across the street from me have two sons. Josh 8 and Kyle 6.  I am obsessed with them.  Everyday when I get home I want to play outside so I can watch for them to come home and hope they will play with me!  Lucky for me they seem to like me.  We have played together in my house or outside almost every day this week.

Mommy and Dexter

I like to play doctor just like my mommy used to do when she was a kid.  I like to examine you using such instruments as bike pumps, tripods, paper and exercise bands.  When it comes to me I like ace wraps and slings the best.
